About Nationwide

The origins of Nationwide date back to 1884 when the society was formed in London as the Co-operative Permanent Building Society. It grew and merged with 250 other societies until it changed its name to Nationwide in 1970. It has thrived ever since, allowing people to save their money and take out mortgages to buy their own homes.

Project details

IT Bites long involvement with Nationwide started with a short 10 week engagement to manage the HRIS team while a new manager was appointed. Our strong experience of PeopleSoft was seen as a bonus in terms of looking at the way the team worked and if any changes should be considered.

The initial appointment led to 3 more years work. Nationwide partnered with a PeopleSoft boutique consultancy, SolidNet, who had assisted with upgrades and feature releases over many years. Nationwide had decided to implement PeopleSoft Global Payroll for the UK, and our long experience of this particular module meant we were a good fit to project manage the deployment on behalf of Solidnet. We led the project from January 2010 until its successful go live the following year.

IT Bites also licensed its Global Payroll End User Pack which allowed the rapid development of training and guides based on best practice from a number of our previous clients.

Having successfully gone live with payroll, we continued to assist Solidnet and Nationwide through ongoing PeopleTools upgrades; feature releases; additional functionality and important legislative changes such as Real Time Information (RTI) and Auto Pension Enrolment.

Coincidentally, it was while forming our relationship with Solidnet on this project that we became aware of the new Workday system, and Solidnet starting a new Workday practice called Kloud would provide the impetus for IT Bites becoming a Workday boutique.
