The execution phase will see the system built and configured as per the functional specification.

During this phase, the functional team will need to work in line with the Project Plan, configuring the system and ensuring that functional components are delivered on time. 

Regarding any customisations, they will be required to work closely with the technical development teams to ensure that modifications made are fit for purpose and as per the Functional Specification. 

Ultimately, the functional team will test and sign off the fully configured application.

A key deliverable of this phase, and one that is often overlooked, is the completion and maintenance of up-to-date documentation which reflects any changes or learning's that are realised during this phase.
