Background

The UK Ministry of Defence is a major PeopleSoft adopter.

From 2005 until April 2008, a programme was established to fully implement HR processes through version 8.8. This would include projects such as eRecruitment; eLearning and ePerformance as well as further optimisation of standard processes such as Workforce Admin etc.

The Department has a fairly aggressive implementation timetable, and utilised the services of UK based Allinity Ltd (later Compel Business Solutions, a 2E2 company) as their PeopleSoft partner. Having previously worked with many of the consultants on prior projects, the MD of Allinity, Anton de Weger, contacted IT Bites in the Autumn of 2005 to provide project management to their workload. The role was accepted and was continued until Spring of 2008, when the majority of the programme had been successfully implemented.

Deliverables

1. Management of consultant workload

2. Liaison with Programme management; senior management in the Department; individual projects

3. Establishment of a Release Management process and schedule

4. Status reporting; pipeline management; cost tracking etc

Delivery

The programme was largely implemented by Spring 2008, and Compel continue to provide ongoing support as well as smaller 'business as usual' type project implementations.
