Goodrich Corporation
are currently upgrading their PeopleSoft HRMS system from 8.3 to 8.8. The
system is used widely throughout Goodrich with user populations based in the
UK, Canada, India and France. My initial role within this project was to
provide support to their upgrade activities and in particular manage,
co-ordinate and execute all phases of testing. This included the creation
of test strategies; plans and test cases for execution during system,
conversion and user acceptance testing. The first phase of the project went
live successfully (on time and in budget) at the beginning of February.
Work activities are now focused on two further roll-outs in France and
Germany and in addition to testing activities, my role has also required me
to provide training and support / advice within conversion and interface
design and execution. |

During the first half
of 2003, IT Bites developed a Global Payroll end user support pack. The
pack consists of 150 Global Payroll Processes and an end user training
course. It is aimed at clients implementing PeopleSoft Global Payroll and
is adapted by IT Bites for each client based on their own implementation.
8.01, 8.3 and 8.8 versions exist.
Adaptation typically
involves: analysing the configuration, customisations and functionality of
the Global Payroll product; reviewing how they relate to payroll business
process; liaising with configuration teams /developers; adapting the
delivered end user pack materials to support the various phases of
implementation; and delivering training to various team members.
The materials are
used to support User Acceptance Testing; Parallel Run and go-live.
The pack has been a
huge success and since 2003 has been successfully implemented at Abbey
National (8.1); Scottish & Newcastle Retail (8.8); Willis Group (8.3);
